The Pre-Vet Club was established in 1984, the year of the first graduating class from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.  During the 1992-1993 academic year, the club became very active and membership dramatically increased.  Today, membership continues to grow, as does the club participation and affinity to succeed. Please visit these sites for more information about the Pre-Vet Club of Virginia Tech:

The Pre-Vet Club of Virginia Tech Requirements 2004-2005

Members of the Pre-Vet Club are given a letter at the end of the semester, stating that they were members of the club and specifying the types of activities that they performed. These letters are an excellent addition to a Veterinary College application and reflect well on the applicant. In order to receive a letter at the end of the semester, members must fulfill several simple requirements.

1. Meetings:  All members must attend AT LEAST four meetings per semester.

2. Service Activities:  All members must perform AT LEAST two service activities over the course of the semester.

3. Fundraising:  All members must take part in AT LEAST one fundraising activity per semester.

4. Recreation:  Participation in recreational activities is strongly recommended. One recreational activity can be used to take the place of either a meeting or a service activity. However, recreational activities can not be used to replace fundraising activities.
**All members must also pay the membership fee ($12 per semester or $20 per year) in order to receive a letter.
